Your Loganair compensation claim is denied.
You submitted a compensation claim, but unfortunately, it has been rejected.
It can be frustrating when you’re seeking Loganair compensation on your own, unsure if you’re eligible for it. What should you do next? Is the hassle justified? First, it’s definitely worth considering. You could delegate the task to a flight compensation company to handle your case. However, this isn’t your only option.
You can continue fighting for your rights independently.
Your Loganair Compensation Claim Is Denied. Now What?
What to do if your Loganair compensation claim is denied?
There are alternative means to secure compensation from Loganair.
Before proceeding further, it’s advisable to reexamine the legislation and reacquaint yourself with your rights.
1. Collaborating With Flight Compensation Companies
The simplest approach is to collaborate with a flight compensation company.
Your task is simple: complete an online form, provide copies of your boarding pass and passport, and confirm the claim. You don’t need to worry about anything else. The company will handle the rest.
If there are any additional inquiries, the compensation firm will contact you. The only downside is the cost. Most flight compensation companies charge around 25-45% of the compensation.
Our partners offer such services.
When choosing this option, here is all you will have to do:
And that’s it — the rest is handled by professionals.
* Your boarding pass and passport or ID copy.
How much does it cost?
Usually, the cost is about 25 to 45 per cent of the compensation. The balance is transferred to you. If you don’t secure compensation, there’s no charge. However, policies may vary from company to company. Make sure you learn about them before making a claim.

2. Approaching the NEB of the Country Your Flight Originated From
Collaborating with a flight compensation company isn’t the only method.
Once you’ve tried reaching out to the airline on your own and faced rejection or received no response, the next step is to contact the NEB (National Enforcement Bodies). This process doesn’t involve any charges, but it’s not as simple as working with a flight compensation company and can take some time. Usually, it takes at least 2 months for them to process your compensation request.
The greatest downside — a positive response to your request doesn’t necessarily mean that you will receive compensation. Loganair may still reject the request.
You can locate a list of the National Enforcement Bodies here.
The National Enforcement Bodies assist passengers in the event of denied boarding, flight delay or cancellation, as well as enforce the regulation Regulation (EC) 261/2004 and makes sure passengers are treated according to these rules.
3. Taking the Case to Court
Your Loganair compensation claim is denied.
The following procedure involves bringing the matter to court.
It’s strongly suggested to procure a favourable ruling from the NEB beforehand. Possessing this can significantly aid your case against the airline (Loganair in this instance).
This option may seem complex, but it is highly effective. Before proceeding with a court complaint, ensure the validity of your claim. Familiarize yourself with your rights, and construct your argument, and only then can you confidently determine if it’s worth pursuing. If you have an NEB verdict confirming your compensation, include it when submitting your court documents.
Remember, court proceedings will incur costs.
Extraordinary Circumstances
Airlines frequently avoid providing accurate grounds for denying your claim.
They provide you with a very broad justification and leave it at that.
They are rather fond of considering “everything” as extraordinary circumstances.
The reason for this is simple – paying compensation does not add to a company’s profits. That’s why airlines try to avoid compensating passengers. They know that most passengers are not fully aware of their rights, and they take advantage of this. So, be cautious when you come across this term in the future.
According to EU regulation 261/2004, airlines are not required to provide flight compensation in cases of disruptions caused by extraordinary circumstances. These exceptional circumstances include severe weather, airport strikes (not including airline staff strikes), security issues, and hidden manufacturing defects. However, it’s important to note that only hidden manufacturing defects are considered extraordinary circumstances. Most technical issues are the responsibility of the airline.
Moreover, bad weather conditions do not always count as extraordinary circumstances. Sometimes, the weather conditions are completely foreseeable. For example, regular snowfall during the winter (unless snowfall is uncommon in that area). In such cases, the airline is expected to take the necessary steps to ensure timely flight operations.
Determine the actual reason behind the delay or cancellation. It matters.
When Can You Get Flight Compensation From Loganair?
You could be entitled to claim flight compensation in various situations, including flight delays, cancellations, or being denied boarding due to an overbooked flight.
1. Flight Delays
As per EU regulation 261/2004, passengers have the right to claim compensation if their flight reaches the destination more than three hours after the scheduled time. This delay must be the airline’s fault.
The compensation amount is determined by the duration of the delay and the flight distance. For example, if there is a four-hour delay for a short-distance flight from Aberdeen to Manchester (less than 1,500km), you are entitled to receive €250 in compensation.

2. Flight Cancellations
You are entitled to compensation if your flight is cancelled at the last minute due to the airline’s fault. A last- minute flight cancellation is when a flight is cancelled 0-14 days before departure.
The compensation amount can vary based on the flight distance and the delay in reaching your final destination. For instance, if your flight from Rome to Miami, which is a long distance of over 3,500km, gets cancelled without proper notice and you arrive at your final destination more than four hours late on a replacement flight, you are entitled to receive €600 as compensation.
You may also opt for a full Loganair refund, instead of an alternative flight.

3. Denied Boarding Due to Overbooking
Occasionally, airlines overbook flights in anticipation of some passengers not turning up.
If you are refused boarding due to overbooking and you did not voluntarily surrender your seat, you are eligible for compensation.
The compensation depends on the flight distance. For instance, if you are flying from Lisbon to Warsaw, which is a medium-distance flight (a flight ranging from 1,500km to 3,500km), and you are denied boarding due to overbooking, you have the right to receive €400 in compensation if you arrive at your final destination more than three hours late.
